Reina's hearing story

Reina faced a struggle getting her husband to recognise he had a problem with his hearing. It took over a year before he contacted a hearing specialist.

Even then, things didn’t go smoothly as Reina’s husband wasn’t happy with his first hearing aids. He felt he didn’t really need them and said they didn’t help him.

When his audiologist suggested he try hearing aids from Widex, he grudgingly agreed. And as Reina says, “Once he put them in his ears he hasn’t taken them out!”

HEARING LOSS is A delicate matter

Talking about hearing loss with a loved one can be a challenge.

Reina says it’s important to emphasise that there is no stigma in wearing hearing aids.

“I think you just have to say there’s a problem but it’s not your fault.”

A huge difference in their lives

For Reina’s husband, it wasn’t simply a question of acquiring a hearing aid.

He wasn’t satisfied with the first hearing solutions he found and felt they didn’t help him.

However, after he tried a Widex hearing aid he wears it all the time. It’s made a huge difference to his life – and Reina’s too.
