WIDEX Hearing Aid Batteries

Most hearing aids run on zinc air batteries. The size you need depends on which type of hearing aid you have. There are four sizes of batteries for Widex hearing aids, each coded with a number and color

Battery types

  • Size 10 - YELLOW
  • Size 13 - ORANGE
  • Size 312 - BROWN
  • Size 675 - BLUE
Check your user instructions for the hearing aid battery that suits your hearing aids.

Activating the battery

Zinc air batteries need air in order to be activated. Remove the label before use to activate the battery. It is important to keep batteries sealed until you intend to use them, so that air doesn’t enter the battery prematurely.

Once you have activated the battery and removed the seal, it can’t be saved for later use. The battery will stop working after 4-6 weeks even if the hearing aid has not been used during that period.

Storing your hearing aid batteries

Open your hearing aid battery door when you aren’t using it to assure that your device isn’t using power when it’s not in your ear.

Unopened hearing aid batteries should be stored in a dry place at room temperature – like a drawer. It is not necessary to store them in a refrigerator.

Battery Life

Battery life varies depending on which hearing aid you have and how often you use it. The power consumption will vary from one hearing aid to another and from one person to another.

Note the expiration date on the front of the battery pack. The code consists of three letters indicating month followed by the two last digits of the relevant year, so “Jan - 15” means January 2015. Do not use the batteries after this date.

IMPORTANT: Hearing aid batteries should be kept away from children. Immediately contact a medical professional if you suspect that a hearing aid battery has been swallowed.
